About Me
I’m Jamie McCoy, founder of Ancestral Ally Health Coaching and a certified health coach through the Primal Health Coach Institute. My goal is simple: to help people feel energised, resilient, and confident in their health by returning to a way of living that works with our biology, not against it.
My journey
For more than a decade, I thrived on primal principles: eating real food, moving in natural ways and living more in tune with our ancestors. I felt stronger, healthier and more alive.
But after prostate surgery in 2022, I drifted from those foundations. I followed mainstream medical advice, tried the conventional food pyramid and relied on “modern” solutions. Instead of getting better, my health and energy declined. It was only when I re-embraced the primal lifestyle that I found my way back to feeling strong and well again.
That experience cemented my belief in this approach, and it inspired me to take things further by becoming a certified Primal Health Coach. Now, with both lived experience and professional training, I’m dedicated to helping others find what truly works for them.
How I can help
I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all health fixes. Whether you’ve tried diets, weight-loss programmes, or even considered medication and still feel stuck, or whether you’re simply looking for a more natural approach to everyday wellbeing, I’ll meet you where you are. Together we’ll build practical steps that fit your life.
I focus on:
Nutrition – whole, nutrient-dense foods that support energy and health (and cut through the confusion of fad diets and quick fixes).
Movement – simple, functional approaches to strength and fitness.
Lifestyle – managing stress, improving sleep and reducing unnecessary modern toxins.
Mindset – developing confidence and resilience in your health journey.
My goal is to help you build lasting habits so you can feel better now and in the years ahead.
A little about me
I live in Edinburgh, Scotland, with my husband and our two dogs, Frankie and Islay. Originally from Chicago, I’ve lived in both the US and the UK and bring that perspective into my work. I’m also the author of Primal Living in the UK: A Guide to Natural Health and Ancestral Living, published under James McCoy. Outside of coaching, I enjoy playing guitar and writing children’s stories.
